There is No Respect of Persons with God

For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another; In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. (Rom 2:11-16 KJV)

There is no respect of persons with God: We can safely say that god doesn’t care about your opinion, beliefs or where you think you stand with him. YHVH (God) is looking for a people to bring to himself that will respect him and his commands to be a part of his future kingdom that will have no end. Sin creates a separation from a holy and just God and that is not his desire. YHVH’s desire is for us to remain in obedience, just as his son did, and to walk even as Jesus (Yeshua) walked in obedience. Continue Reading →

Touch Not the Unclean Thing and I Will Receive You

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.  (2Co 6:17-18 KJV)

One of our favorite quotes is to “come out from among them and be ye separate” to show us as leaving the world and its sin behind us.  However, that is only part of what is needed in order for us to be received by a holy and just God.  The rest of it is “AND touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” Continue Reading →

Discussion Forum – Astrology vs Astronomy

Studying the stars and planets is Astronomy.

Astrology vs Astronomy is a topic covered in the bible but also has a thin line between them.  We read in Genesis:

14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. And God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. And God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
(Gen 1:14-19 NAS) (emphasis added)

But we also read in scripture not to worship the sun, moon and stars:

15 “So watch yourselves carefully, since you did not see any form on the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb from the midst of the fire, lest you act corruptly and make a graven image for yourselves in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the sky, the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water below the earth. “And beware, lest you lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.
(Deu 4:15-19 NAS) (emphasis added)

What is Astrology and Astronmy?

According to Wikipedia:

Astrology comprises several systems of divination[1] based on the premise that there is a relationship between astronomical phenomena and events in the human world. In the West, astrology most often consists of a system of horoscopes that claim to explain aspects of a person’s personality and predict future events in their life based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other planetary objects at the time of their birth. Many cultures have attached importance to astronomical events, and the Indians, Chinese, and Mayans developed elaborate systems for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations.

Astronomy is a natural science that is the study of celestial objects (such as moons, planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies), the physics, chemistry, mathematics, and evolution of such objects, and phenomena that originate outside the atmosphere of Earth, including supernovae explosions, gamma ray bursts, and cosmic background radiation. A related but distinct subject, cosmology, is concerned with studying the universe as a whole.[1]

Discussion:

With this is mind, what is your opinion about Astrology and Astronomy? Are either allowed according to the Bible? If so, which is and which is not allowed? Are both wrong?

Discussion Forum – Calendar

The Calendar… We have a few to choose from.  There is the Gregorian version, established by Pope Gregory.  There is the Jewish version established by Hillel II.  Also there is God’s (YHVH) calendar established about 6000 years ago.  So which should we follow?

calendarMany arguments exist about this topic.  Many points of view are also hotly debated regarding the calendars.  It is well understood that the Gregorian Calendar, using pagan names for the months and days of the week is the main calendar used in the world.  Ah yes, but we are told not to be of the world.

The Gregorian Calendar

We pretty much don’t have a choice about this calendar since the rest of the pagan world follows this version.  We are stuck with calling the names of the days and months by pagan gods.  When the Christian church follows this calendar, they are in fact acknowledging the authority of the Pope.

Discussion Forum – Sabbath

sabbath

The only commandment we are told to remember…But are we to forget it now?

This is a hotly debated topic with opponents entrenched on both sides,  We all can agree on the fact that Sabbath in our modern English is Saturday, in Spanish it is called Sabado, French Samdi, but all are the 7th day of the week.  In our twisted modern times, we are now trying to change the days of the week to make Monday the first day and thus Sunday would be the 7th.

From history, we see the change in the worship schedule by the Pope to Sunday and the pope even says that Sunday worship is the mark of his authority.  We also know from history that Jesus (Yeshua) kept the Sabbath according to the requirement of God’s commands.  finally from history we see that the early church also kept the original Sabbath.
