What Does It Mean To Be An Ambassador For Christ?

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. (2Co 5:20 KJV)

What does it mean to be an Ambassador for Christ?  We often like to say that we are Ambassadors for the kingdom, representing our Messiah while we wait for his return.  First we must get an understanding before we can proceed with proper wisdom.

  • What is an Ambassador?
  • What are the requirements of an ambassador?
  • What are the duties of an Ambassador?

Let’s take a look into what is mean to be an Ambassador and all that is required to do so.

The Blind Leading The Blind

“Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Mat 15:14 NAU)

What did Jesus (Yeshua) mean?

In context we have the Pharisees complaining to Jesus (Yeshua) that His disciples were not following the “traditions of the elders” by eating bread without washing their hands first.  Jesus explains that eating with dirty hands does not make you unclean, but the things you say is what makes you unclean.  He states further that their traditions break the commands of God. Now We Are the Children of God

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. (1Jo 3:2-8 NAU)

This is the Love of God

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. (1Jo 5:1-3 NAU)

For this is the Love of God That We Keep His Commandments. 1John 5:2

For this is the Love of God That We Keep His Commandments. 1John 5:2

When the church leaders tried to stump Jesus (Yeshua) by asking him which is the greatest of the commands, his response was to quote scripture.  His answer was: The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’ “The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mar 12:29-31 NAU) Continue Reading →

Neglecting the Commandment of God You Hold to the Tradition of Men

“Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.” He was also saying to them, “You nicely set aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.” Mark 7:8

Neglecting the Commandments of God you hold on to your traditions.

Neglecting the Commandments of God you hold to the tradition of men.

Last week we explored whether your worship is in vain.  Continuing we look into neglecting the commandment of God you hold to the tradition of men.  Traditions themselves are not bad, although the origins of most are pagan.  However, when you set aside the commands of God in favor of your traditions you move into lawlessness, which is sin.
