Good Fruit vs Bad Fruit – You Shall Know Them By Their Fruit

Matthew 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  (Mat 7:17 KJV)

In today’s world understanding people, companies, and governments based upon what they say is the norm, but to look at what they do is taboo.  Scripture tells us the “We shall know them by their fruit.” Yet even the church goers make decisions by what is said and not done.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (Mat 7:15-20 KJV)

Government

I was recently told by a good devout ‘Christian’ that the bible verse about knowing them by their fruit does not apply to governments.  Seriously?  If the government will rest upon the shoulders of Jesus, then isn’t the government accountable to Him?  So are we saying that the government is outside of the scriptures?

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isa 9:6-7 KJV)

QUESTION?  Does good/evil fruit extend to government?

USA: Passes laws that directly violate God’s laws.

Russia:  Bans forbidden relations upholding God’s laws.

Judge for yourself a righteous judgment, which country’s fruit is “Good Fruit?”

It’s not what they so it is what they do

Don’t Judge Me we hear, but if you are to know them by their fruit then what are we to do?  We are taught not to judge because the measure you use will be measured against you.  So again we are trapped because we don’t want that measured against us, because we know how bad we are.

NEWS FLASH:  All will be judged by the standard of the scriptures and how well you applied them in your life.

So what if the standard you used to judge is based upon the Word of God? Who is doing the judging you or God? If you judge based upon the word of God then you judge righteously as scripture tells you to do.

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. (Joh 7:24 KJV)

Time to Pick Some Fruit

The best place to start is with the person staring at you in the mirror.  Look deeply in that mirror and ask that person, is your fruit from a good tree or an evil tree?  You can hide much of your fruit from others, but before correcting the position of another you have to correct your position first so you can see clearly.  Repent and fertilize your tree with the perfect growth formula found in the Bible.

Don’t be afraid to judge the fruits of another, but you need not tell everyone. The adage of one bad apple spoils the bushel is true.  Bad company corrupts good character.  The best thing you can do is to remove yourself from the bad influences.  When they notice your absence, then share the truth in love of your judgment of bad fruit.  By this we will know we are His disciples
