For This You Know with Certainty…

Ephesians 5:5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. (Eph 5:5 NAS)

When Paul is writing to the Ephesians he points out that for this you know with certainty that some people who meet a defined qualification will have no place in the kingdom.  This is not a matter of question, nor can grace save you if you meet these qualifications.  Lets dig into the meaning of a few words and terms Paul chooses carefully. Touch Not the Unclean Thing and I Will Receive You

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.  (2Co 6:17-18 KJV)

One of our favorite quotes is to “come out from among them and be ye separate” to show us as leaving the world and its sin behind us.  However, that is only part of what is needed in order for us to be received by a holy and just God.  The rest of it is “AND touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” Continue Reading →

What Spirit Is Influencing You?

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1Co 2:9-14 KJV)

It is such an interesting question of what spirit is influencing you.  Have you ever had a time driving around a mall during a busy shopping season and you hear a voice telling you to turn here?  You turn and lo and behold there is someone 3 cars in from the door that just flipped into reverse?  That happens to me all the time, I call it favor, but I know it is the influence of the Holy Spirit. What Does It Mean To Be An Ambassador For Christ?

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. (2Co 5:20 KJV)

What does it mean to be an Ambassador for Christ?  We often like to say that we are Ambassadors for the kingdom, representing our Messiah while we wait for his return.  First we must get an understanding before we can proceed with proper wisdom.

  • What is an Ambassador?
  • What are the requirements of an ambassador?
  • What are the duties of an Ambassador?

Let’s take a look into what is mean to be an Ambassador and all that is required to do so.

The Blind Leading The Blind

“Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Mat 15:14 NAU)

What did Jesus (Yeshua) mean?

In context we have the Pharisees complaining to Jesus (Yeshua) that His disciples were not following the “traditions of the elders” by eating bread without washing their hands first.  Jesus explains that eating with dirty hands does not make you unclean, but the things you say is what makes you unclean.  He states further that their traditions break the commands of God.
