The ONE Sign Given for Proof of our Redeemer – The Sign of Jonah, Part 2

In review from Part 1 of our single sign for proof of our redeemer we looked at what Jesus (Yeshua) said would be the sign of Him being who he said he was.  We also looked at the sign he spoke of, the sign of Jonah from the book of Jonah, chapter 1.  We left off with the counting of three days and three night, the ONE sign given and the time line.  Here it is as review and the scripture we are looking at:

“For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.” Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.” But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign shall be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet; for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Mat 12:37-40 NAS)

  • Thursday night:  The arrest of Jesus.
  • Early Friday Morning before light:  The mock trial of Jesus at the hands of Caiaphas.
  • Friday morning: Jesus taken to Pilate for permission to kill him.  Pilate washes his hands of this situation.
  • Friday at the sixth hour (noon): Darkness falls across the land for three hours.
  • Friday at the ninth hour (3:00 pm): Jesus cries out and gives up His spirit.
  • Friday evening:  Jesus taken down and placed in the tomb by Joseph of Arimathea.

So here is the time line from Matthew chapters 26 and 27.  The glorious sign starts, three days and three nights.  We start the count at evening this very day, counting out and understanding the tremendous price paid for the redemption of all of mankind.  Friday Night… Saturday day… Saturday night…

Sunday day…

As we move through the timeline we search the scriptures just as the Bereans did and we study to show ourselves approved.  In doing so we run into the next part of the timeline.

Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. And his appearance was like lightning, and his garment as white as snow; and the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. And the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. “He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. (Mat 28:1-6 NAS)

So now we have the full timeline in place.  The Sabbath is over and Mary Magdalene and the other Mary head to the tomb to prepare the body as is the custom of their culture.  They began the walk on the first day of the week, Sunday, just before dawn.  Here is the complete timeline:

  • Saturday daytime:  Jesus is in the belly of the earth.
  • Saturday night:  Jesus is in the belly of the earth.
  • Sunday Morning before dawn:  The tomb is empty and an angel tells the women Jesus is not here, he has risen just as he said.

New math?

Something doesn’t add up here.  We know the sign given to us is the sign of Jonah in which there would be three days and three nights where Jesus (Yeshua) would be in the belly of the earth.  Clearly, according to today’s church leaders the sign was not fulfilled.  Something must be wrong, either we are serving the wrong Messiah or the tradition we have been hand down is false.

If this timeline is correct then Jesus (Yeshua) would need to be in the belly of the earth Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night as well as Saturday daytime, Sunday daytime and Monday daytime. Applying the sign of Jonah into a timeline view it would look like this:

  • Night 1 – Friday evening:  Jesus taken down and placed in the tomb by Joseph of Arimathea.
  • Day 1 – Saturday daytime:  Jesus is in the belly of the earth.
  • Night 2 – Saturday night:  Jesus is in the belly of the earth.
  • Day 2 – Sunday daytime:  Jesus is in the belly of the earth.
  • Night 3 – Sunday Night:  Jesus is in the belly of the earth.
  • Day 3 – Monday daytime:  Jesus is in the belly of the earth.
  • Monday night: :  Jesus is Resurrected.

What is a Sabbath?

Sabbath is the 7th day of the week and also a special holiday that is commanded by the LORD (YHVH) which must be observed by those who love him just and Jesus (Yeshua) said “if you love me you will obey my commands.”  So with this knowledge, it is possible that two Sabbaths can occur in the same week.  With that said, let’s look more into scripture.

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. (Act 12:4 KJV)

Here we find what we celebrate today, Easter.  However a deception has been pulled on us by translating the Greek word Pashcha as Easter, where in actuality it is the word Passover.  So Peter was apprehended at the feasts Passover and unleavened bread.  Scripture plainly says this in the verse beforehand:

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) (Act 12:3 KJV)

So a different gods’ name was inserted into our Holy Bible to cause us to worship a pagan goddess instead of celebrating the feasts of the LORD (YHVH) as we were commanded.  Instead if we know and follow scripture we can understand a better timeline.

Proposed timeline which includes YHVH’s (the LORD’s) Feasts

Understanding the feasts of the LORD (YHVH) from Leviticus 23 and matching it to the ONE sign given, the Sign of Jonah, we can prepare a different timeline that would match scripture.  Church leaders of Jesus’ (Yeshua’s) time changed the laws of God (YHVH) by adding to and taking away from them thus making them null.  Today’s church leaders are still filling the shoes of those in the past.  I say we rely on scripture as our guide.

Using scripture here is what seems to be a better timeline:

  • Preparation for Passover Night: Yeshua is arrested.
  • Passover Morning before light: The mock trial of Yeshua at the hands of Caiaphas.
  • Passover Morning: Yeshua taken to Pilate for permission to kill him.  Pilate washes his hands of this situation.
  • Passover at the sixth hour (noon): Darkness falls across the land for three hours.
  • Passover at the ninth hour (3:00 pm): Yeshua, the Passover lamb cries out and gives up His spirit as the Passover is cooked.
  • Passover at the evening: The body of Yeshua is taken down and placed in the tomb as the Passover lamb is eaten.
  • Night 1 – First day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread a high Sabbath at sundown ending Passover.
  • Day 1 – Feast of Unleavened bread as a High Sabbath while Yeshua is in the belly of the earth.
  • Night 2 – Second day of Unleavened Bread (starts at sundown) while Yeshua is in the belly of the earth.
  • Day 2 – Second day (daytime hours) of Unleavened Bread while Yeshua is in the belly of the earth and the women prepare the spices.
  • Night 3 – Weekly Sabbath while Yeshua is in the belly of the earth.
  • Day 3 – Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.

This timeline matches what scripture says in keeping with the ONE sign given to a wicked and adulterous generation, the sign of Jonah.  We can’t continue as a wicked people and then claim to love our Messiah who paid such a high price for our redemption.  Search the scriptures as the Bereans and see if they match what the church leaders are teaching you and leave your traditions behind as you walk the narrow path.

Please, comment on what you think.

Thank you for sharing in our attempt to spread that nasty stuff called truth. I remember how much I fought this whole thing and now want to share what I have learned with others in love. So many bashers out there and it is not necessary. Most of us come from those positions that others are trashing forgetting the path they walked.
